Police Investigate
Suspicious Death
On May 2,1997, just after mid
night, Friday morning, Portland Fire
Bureau members responded to Wash
ington Park on a call o f a grass fire.
At the foot o f the Lewis and Clark
Monument, fire personnel discov
ered a body that had been burned
beyond recognition. Portland Police
Officers and Detectives responded
to the scene.
The identity and cause o f death
of this individual is unknown pend
ing the medical Examiners findings.
Police are investigating this as a
suspicious death. Investigative-Ser
geants K. Ferrell and D. Ruby are the
investigators.
Bobby Lee Resnick
The Portland Police Bureau, in cooperation
with Crime Stoppers, is asking for your help in
locating and apprehending Bob Lee Ristick.
Felony no bail arrest warrants, charging Ristick
with Aggravated Theft, are on file in Multnomah
County and authorities will extradite nationwide.
Bob Lee Ristick is a 43-year-old white male
(DOB December 17, 1953), 5 ’10", 220 pounds,
with brown eyes and black hair. Aliases include
Bob Richardson and Robert Lee Renick.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward o f
up to $ 1,000 for information, reported to Crime
Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in this case, or any
unsolved felony crime, and you do not have to
give your name.

Bangkok restaurant, located at 8001
SE Powell Boulevard, regarding an
assault.
Police arrived to discover the
victim unconscious on the sidewalk
outside o f the restaurant. Police took
into custody two men in relationship
to this crime.
The victim was transported to
Portland Adventist Hospital, where
he died at approximately 4:00 am in
the morning.
It appears that the three men had
an argum ent inside o f the New
Bangkok Restaurant. All three were
asked to leave the premises and were
escorted to the front door. The argu
ment continued, leading to an assault
where the victim ended up uncon
scious on the sidewalk. The injuries
that lead to the homicide appear to
have been caused by the physical
confrontation.

On Sunday, May 4, 1997, at
4:30 pm, Portland Police responded
to 3904 N Albina on the scene o f an
apparent hom icide. Police were
called to the multi-unit apartment
house by one o f the victim’s room
mates, who discovered the body.
The victim, white male, ap
proximately 60 years o f age, shared
the apartment with two roommates.
Death is believed to have occurred
this date and was caused by blunt
physical trauma.
No suspect have yet been iden
tified and the investigation is con
tinuing.
