I Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the I
Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (Tri -
Met) at 3:30 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 1996 at the
Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Avenue, 2nd Floor, Room C.,
Portland, Oregon, for the purpose of considering several
projects for which federal assistance under Section 5309 of |
Title 49, U.S.C. is being sought.
I The projects described below are contained in three grant I
I applications which have been submitted to the Federal Transit
(Administration. At the hearing, Tri-Met will afford opportunity
| for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to [
the social, economic and environmental aspects of the projects.
If public testimony results in the need to change a project, Tri-
Met will revise the grant application. The grant applications!
are:
South Mall Extension: $7.5 million total budget, $6 million!
federal, $1.5 million local share. This project will develop a bus |
transit center at Portland State University.
Bus Replacement: $3.75 million total budget, $3 million fed­
eral, $1.5 million local share. Tri-Met plans to purchase ap-l
proximately 15 40-ft. transit buses to replace buses that are|
I past their useful life.
(South/North PE/FEIS: $7.5 million total budget, $6 million j
federal, $1.5 million local share. This grant will provide contin-
Jued funding for preliminary engineering work and the final
( environmental impact statement for the South/North Light Rail
Extension.
Westside Start-Up. $19.5 million total budget, $14.6 million |
federal, $4.88 million local share. This project will fund pre-
I revenue service personnel and material costs, security, and
I maintenance equipment, and customer service improvements
necessitated by the Westside Light Rail Project. Included are
( construction of a parking garage at the Sunset Transit Center |
(and extension of the platforms at the Rose Quarter Station.

(8:00 am to 5.00 pm.
The Metropolitan Exposition-Recreation Commission (MERC)
is soliciting Bids for the second time, for the Reupholstering o
the Civic Auditorium General Seating. The Civic Auditorium is
located 222 S. W. Clay, Portland, OR, 97204. The work
consists of the removal from the Owner’s site, return thereof
and reupholstering of approxim ately 2812 each, seat bottoms
and backs that will be demounted and remounted by owner.
Owner will supply all materials for the recovering of the seating
in accordance with the Specifications. The work will be phased
over a several month period or as otherwise arranged with the
owner. Self-explanatory Specifications for the Project for pur­
poses of Bidding, may be obtained at the MERC Offices
between 8:00a.m. and 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday, or at
other times as may be mutually arranged. The MERC Offices
are located at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 N.E. Martin
Luther King Jr., Blvd., Portland, OR 97232 A non-mandatory
site visitation will be held on September 24,1996, at 1:30p.m.,
at the front entrance to the building on 3rd Avenue. Seat
bottoms and backs will be available for inspection and the
Specification will be reviewed. Bids are due no later than
3:00p.m., October 1, 1996, at which time the Bids will be
opened and read.

The Portland Development Comm ission (PDC), the duly au
thorized and acting Urban Renewal Agency of the City of
Portland, requests firm proposals from private banks and other
financial institutions to provide PDC with one or more multi­
year credit facilities. PDC will use the funds loaned to it by the
credit facilities to fund loans for acquisition, refinancing, new
construction or rehabilitation of single-fam ily and multi-family
residential property. Each credit facility must be in an amount
not less than $6.0 million.
A copy of the grant applications, W estside-Hillsboro environ-
( mental documents, and Tri-Met's transit development plan are
available for public inspection at the Tri-Met Grants depart­
ment, 4th floor, 4012 SE 17th Avenue, Portland, Oregon.

Dehumidification System at EXPO, 2060 North Marine Drive,

environmental conditions conducive to a major artifact display
event to be held in EXPO'S new exhibition building of approxi­
mately 133,000 square feet.
