Invitation To Bid
Notice is hereby given that the Department of Housing Ser­
vices (DHS) and the Housing Authority of Washington County
(HAWC) is requesting sealed bids for 4-units of rehabilitation
and accessible living modifications, bids may be submitted at
111 NE Lincoln St. #200-L, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124, until 2:00
p.m., on the 23 day of August 1996, at which time and place all
bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids submitted
after this time will be returned unopened.
The basic work consists of sitework and dwelling modifications
for accessible living of four two bedroom units located at 138/
140/142/144 Ninth Ct. Hillsboro, Oregon 97124. The esti­
mated non-engineered) construction cost is $200,000. The
proposed forms of contract documents, including plans and
specifications, are on file at the office of the Washington
County Department of Housing Services at 111 NE Lincoln St.
#200-L, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124, 503/693-4794. Copies of
the documents may be obtained by depositing a non-refund-
able fee of, $20,000 (no cash, please) with the Washington
County Department of Housing Services for each set of
documents so obtained. Copies may be received through the
mail by contacting Steve Nicholas, 693-4440.
A Pre-Bid conference (Site on Wednesday, August 7 ,1996 at
10:00 a.m. whereby the Project Architect and DHS Represen­
tative will meet contractors and answer any questions.
A certified check or bank draft, payable to Housing Authority of
Washington County, U.S. Government bonds, or a satisfac-
1 tory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties
in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted
with each bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a
satisfactory performance and payment bond in the penal sum
of 100 percent of the contract price; or, as may be required or
permitted by State Law.
As required by state law, attention is called to the following:
1. Provisions for equal em ployment opportunity, and payment
of not less than the minimum salaries and wages, as set forth
in the specifications, must be paid on this project. No bid will
be considered by the agency unless the bid contains a state­
ment by the bidder as a part of the bid, that the provisions of this
requirement are to be com plied with.
2. ) No pre-qualification of bidders is required for this project.
3. ) Each bid must contain a “Resident Bidder” statement.
4. ) No bid for a construction contract shall be received or
considered unless the bidder is registered with the Construc­
tion Contractors Board or licensed by the State Landscape
Contractors Board as required by ORS 671.530.
