With three years o f business suc
cess behind him, what does Blackburn
foresee for his company in the next
few years?
“I want my merchandise to be sold
world-wide by 1997," Blackburn said
quietly. “I, can happen. W e’re al
ready nation-wide, and w e’re break
ing into foreign markets. “ W e’re a
company that works hard. It j ust takes
a good break. It’s usually a struggle
for a wh i le and then one day the break
comes.”
The Marquis Ramone line was
helped out early on by former Port

modeled 'he line at Blackburn’s fash

Other celebrities are also wearing
Blackburn’s line. Members o f the
rhythm and blues group Rashnee were
spotted wearing Marquis Ramone
shirts in one o f their recent videos.
And Blackburn’s clothes were worn
by actors in the recent Damon Ivory
Wayans movie D on’t Be a Menace.
While his success so far is gratify

seeing people on the street wear his
clothes. “That makes all the work
worth it,” said Blackburn. “Spotting
someone in our clothes is by far the
greatest thrill.”
