This announcem ent will serve as notice of the W ashington
State D epartm ent of T ransportation’s (W SDOT) annual D is­
advantaged B usiness enterprise (DBE) goals for the year
beginning O ctober 1, 1995. W S D O T proposes an overal
goal of 16 percent DBE participation in each of the followinc
areas of its federally funded contracting opportunities.

for determ ining these g oals will be available for inspection 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. at the W ashington State D epartm ent of
Transportation B uilding in O lym pia, W ashington, for 30 days
follow ing the date of this notice. W S D O T will accept co m ­
m ents on goals for inform ation purposes only, until August

Unless otherwise stated in the individual proposals listed
herein, no proposal or bid will be considered unless accom pa­
nied by a bid surety for an am ount not less than ten percent
(10% ) of the aggregate am ount of the proposal.
The City encourages bidding by M BEs and FBEs and will
assist such firm s to understand and participate in form al
bidding processes.

Sealed bids will be received at the Housing Authority of
Portland (HAP), 8910 N. W oolsey Avenue, Portland, O regon,
97203, until 2.00 p.m., Thursday, A u g u s t 1 7 ,1 9 9 5 for labor
and m aterials to provide m iscellaneous m aintenance w ork at
various residential locations in M ultnom ah County. Shortly
thereafter, bids will be opened and publicly read. No bidder
m ay w ithdraw their bid after the hour set for opening thereof
until after the lapse of sixty (60) days from the bid opening.
The basic work consists of rem oving and replacing sid e ­
walks, curbs driveways, roofing, gutters & dow nspouts, and
exterior painting at locations to be identified later.
Bid docum ents are available at the HAP office noted above.
A §2Q (twenty) deposit for one and $20 (twenty) for each
additional set is refundable when docum ents are returned in
good condition within 10 days after bid opening.
The H ousing A uthority of Portland m ay reject any bid not in
com pliance with the prescribed bidding procedures and re­
quirem ents and may reject any or all bids and waive all
inform alities if, in the judgem ent of HAP, it is in the public
