The kick-o ff to the construction phase o f the Home Building Center remodeling project started with a cerem onial ground-breaking last March. This project is the result o f a year-long effort between Habitat for Humanity, the Society for Marketing Professional Services and other groups. Habitat for Humanity is a non­ profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization that builds homes in partnership with low-income fami­ lies. The U S. Department o f Ener­ g y ’s weatherization assistance pro­ gram also laces potential funding cuts as Congress attempts to reduce the federal deficit.
