Modifications for Maintenance Shop
Sealed bids for the Terminal 6, Cargo Distribution System,
M odifications for M aintenance Shop, will be received at the
office of the Manager, Contracts and Procurement, of The
Port of Portland, 700 N.E. Multnomah Street, 15th floor,
Portland, Oregon, (503) 731-7593 (mailing address: Post
Office Box 3529, Portland, Oregon, 97208) until, but not
after, 2 p.m., March 29,1995, and thereafter publicly opened
and read.
Description of Work:
Remodeling approxim ately 21,000 square feet of an
existing 202,000 square foot Cargo Distribution Center
warehouse. The remodeled space is for m aintenance
shops including tire repair, a welding shop, chassis
repair, and a supporting office, a lunch room, a locker
room, and rest room facilities. The project also includes
construction of a container repair dock attached to one
side of the building, access ramps and associated grad­
ing, paving, and other times considered incidental to the
work.
The Port of Portland is committed to providing equal oppor­
tunities to State of Oregon certified Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises (DBEs) in contracting activities. The DBE partici­
pation target for this project is 10 percent. For this reason, the
Port is requesting bidders’ good faith efforts as defined in
ORS 200-045 (3) in achieving increased DBE participation.
If they are successful in securing DBE participation, the Port
is requiring bidders to complete and submit, with their bids,
a Statem ent of Intent form included in the bid documents.
The Port Contracts and Procurement office has DBE vendor
profiles available which will be supplied to prime contractors
upon request. The profiles identify pertinent vendor data
which may assist prime contractors in providing subcontract­
ing and supplier opportunities to DBEs in specific areas as
identified by the Port.
A prebid conference will be held on Monday, March 20,1995,
at 2:00 p.m. in the Terminal 6 Administration Building to
discuss all phases of the work.

Bids must be on the bid form which will be provided to
prospective bidders and must be accompanied by a certified
or cashier’s check drawn on a United States bank or a bid
bond payable to The Port of Portland in an amount equal to
at least 10 percent of the total amount bid.
Prequalification is not required for this work.
The drawings and the contract manual may be exam ined at
Port offices. Copies may be obtained by prospective bidders
at no cost from Contracts and Procurement (address above).
No bid will be received or considered unless it contains a
statem ent by the bidder as a part of the bid that the provisions
of ORS 279.350 (regarding prevailing wage rates) are to be
complied with.

proposals for Consultant Services for the Investigation/
Design of repair of tile efflorescence and window leaks of The
Portland Building. The project includes reviewing existing
reports and documents, investigating the physical problems,
designing a solution, preparing construction documents, and
participation in the bidding and construction processes.
Proposals shall be reviewed by a consultant selection com ­
mittee in accordance with Chapter 5.68 of the City Code.
Interviews are intended to be held with the highest rated
firms.

With the approval of the Board of Directors, Portland Com ­
munity College plans to enter into a contract with a General
Contracting firm for the construction services necessary to
complete construction of the new PCC Central Portland
W orkFore Training Center to be built at the intersection of SE
W ater Avenue and SE Clay Street in Southeast Portland.
The project scope of work includes, but is not limited to,
existing building and site dem olition and clearing, site prepa­
ration, earthwork, grading, site utilities, construction of the
new W orkForce Training Center building, with finish sitework,
on-site and off-site paving, landscaping and irrigation.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is the first step in the
General Contractor selection process. On the basis of Pro­
posals received, the College will select approxim ately five (5)
Finalists. The second step will be the receipt of lump sum
Bids for the project Construction Contract. It is the intention
of PCC to enter Into a contract for construction with the
selected General Contractor, which will be based upon a
lump sum price for all work through construction and com ple­
tion of the project. The total construction funding available for
the construction contract is currently $3,350,000.
There will be a mandatory Pre-Bid Conference, followed by
a site walk-through, to be held on Thursday, March 30,1995
at 10:00 AM at the project site at the intersection of SE W ater
Avenue and SE Clay Street in Southeast Portland. Atten­
dance at this meeting and walk-through Is m andatory for the
Finalists. Representatives of m inority-owned and women-
owned businesses are invited to attend this meeting.
Proposals will be received by Portland Community College,
H.E. Lile, Manger, Procurement and Risk Services, Room
A6, Ross Island Center, 049 S. W. Porter St., Portland,
Oregon 97201, until W ednesday, March 22 at 2:00 PM local
time. Proposals received after this time will not be accepted.

PCC has determined specification for such Proposals, cop­

The College may reject any Proposal not in compliance with
