Extension for the City of Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon,
will be received by the City until 4:00 p.m. on April 5 ,1 9 9 5 .
Bids subm itted prior to opening are to be delivered to the

received by the Director of Public Works for Sweet Home at
the Department of Public W orks Office, 1730 North Ninth
Ave, Sweet Home, Oregon until 2:00 p.m. on April 5,1 9 9 5 ,
and immediately thereafter the proposals will be publicly
opened and read. Contracts for construction will be awarded
or bids rejected within sixty (60) calendars days after their
opening.
Sealed bids for the construction of the 9th Street W aterline
Improvements for the Lakeside W ater District, Coos County,
Oregon, will be received by the District until 2:00 P.M., Pacific
Time, on March 21,1995. Bids submitted prior to the opening
will be received by the Superintendent of the Lakeside W ater
District, Lakeside, Oregon 97449.
The project consists of a distribution system im provem ent

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00 a.m., local time,
on March 24, 1995, beginning at the Sweet Home Public
Works Office Building. A tour of the proposed construction
sites will be conducted. At this meeting all questions concern
ing the Contract Documents or proposed work will be dis
cussed.
One copy of the Contract Documents may be obtained by
perspective bidders upon receipt of cash or check in the
am ount of $25.00 made payable to the City of Sweet Home.
Deposit made upon procurement of drawings, specification,
and forms of contract docum ents will be non-refundable.
Individual sheets and specification pages may be purchased
for the cost of reproduction: Drawings $1.75 per sheet;
Specifications $0.10 per sheet.
Bidders must prequalify with the Owner, on Standard Oregon
Review Board Prequalification forms, ten (10) days prior to
I bid opening. Disqualification statem ents shall be issued not
later than 4 days before bid opening by the O wner.
Prequalification forms may be obtained from the Engineer
and should be submitted to the Owner via the Engineer. If a
[ prequalification form is on file with the Engineer and is not
over one year old, refiling is not necessary unless there has
been a substantial change in the Contractor’s status.
No bid will be considered unless fully completed in the
manner provided in the “Instructions to Bidders" upon the bid
form provided by the Engineer and accom panied by a bid
bond executed in favor of the City of Sweet Home in an
amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of bid. Bid
bond is to be forfeited as a fixed and liquidated damage
should the bidder neglect or refuse to enter into a contract or
provide suitable bond for the faithful performance of the w ork
in the event the contract is awarded to him. Funds for the
im provements are available, and monthly paym ents will be
made by check.
No bid will be received or considered by the City of Sweet
Home unless the successful Biddershall be, orshall become,
registered with the Construction Contractor’s Board or li
censed by the State Landscape Contractor’s Board as
required by ORS 671.530. Bidder is not required to be
licensed under ORS 468.883.

Copies of the plan and specifications may be obtained upon
application at the office of the Department of Public Works,
1730 North Ninth Ave., Sweet Home, Oregon, and upon
paym ent of a deposit in cash or check in the amount of fifty
dollars ($50.00) made payable to the City of Sweet Home.
The deposit made upon procurem ent of the plans and
specifications will be refunded upon the return thereof in
good condition by actual bidders, provided return is made
within ten (10) calendar days after the opening of bids.
Non-bidders deposits will be refunded only if the documents
are returned in good condition no later than the date of bid
opening. The full amount of the deposit will be forfeited for

a part of his bid that the provisions required by ORS 279.350
