The Northwest Afrikan Ameri­ can Ballet has performed throughout the West Coast, from Alaska to South­ ern California, formorethan 13 years. They present traditional music and dances from Senegal, Guinea and Mali in West Africa. Lora and the Sukutai Marimba Dance Ensemble, based in Seattle, Wash., will be the opening perform­ ers on Feb. 28. Thistroupecom bines dance, music and storytelling to cel­ ebrate the heritage of the Shona peo- pie from Zimbabwe. The group was at PSU this last November as part of the fourth Zimbabwe Music Festival that had audiences dancing, leaving K i p l i n q 's their shoes and their cares elsewhere.
