Notice of Intent
The Oregon Departm ent of Transportation, Transportation
Developm ent Branch is seeking proposals from qualified
consultants to assist in developing and implementing Oregon’s
Intermodal Facilities and Systems M anagem ent System
(IMS). The requested services include a statewide IMS and
Freight Element of the Regional Transportation Plan. C on­
sultants are being sought for the following w ork elem ents:
A) identifying perceived intermodal problem s and needs.
B) developing a database structure and perform ance
measures, and collecting the necessary data.
C) id e n tifyin g s tra te g ie s and actio n s fo r im p ro vin g
intermodal transportation movements.
Both ODOT and Metro are providing funds for the proposed
work. Metro funding will be adm inistered through the Port of
Portland. Because there are two funding sources, there will
be two contracts with the same consultant. The initial value
of the two contracts will not exceed $250,000. The Initial
ODOT contract may be am ended up to a m axim um of
$70,000 to conduct surveys.
A pre-proposal meeting w ill be held at 1:30 p.m. on O ctober
14, 1994 in the Em ploym ent Departm ent Auditorium , 875
Union Street NE, Salem , Oregon. Consultants are encour­
aged, but not required, to attend.
The assigned DBE participation goal for this project is 12
percent. The assigned goal shall apply to am endm ents or
