when the label of an ex-con means
being at the head ot the line of a
revolving door in and out of incar­
ceration. Some people through per­
sistence, self determination, and hard
work, find a way to stop the cycle.
Leumal Hentz a fourteen and a half
year veteran of the Walla Walla
State Penal system is one such per­
son.
Throughout months of frustra­
tion of society turning Mr. Leumal
Hentz down he stayed focused, mo­
tivated and positive. While incar­
cerated Leumal obtained an associ­
ate degree in psychology and com­
puter program ming and learned
skills in other fields.
He applied for jobs and had
interviews with local community ser­
vice programs only to be turned down
one after the other.
He finally landed his first
job at H ip p o ’s H ardw are. He
saved all his m oney and then
p u rch ased his firs t truck and
o p en e d up his ow n b u sin e ss
called H & H in July, 1994.
H & H buys and sells new and
