The Spirit o f Portland’s Moon
light Dance Cruises have become a
virtual nautical novelty. The Spirit
o f Portland began its Moonlight
Dance Cruises in June, one month
after arriving in Portland. Duringthe
past m onth, M o o n light Dance
Cruises have packed nearly 300
people onto the boat every Friday
and Saturday night. Don Fuchs, Gen
eral Manager of the Spirit o f Port
land, says the reason for its success
is, "... a combination o f the warm
weather and more and more people
learning about the boat. Once people
come on a Moonlight Dance Cruise
they realize that the Spirit o f
Portland’s excellent sound system,
warm lighting, and marble dance
floor creates an ambiance for a won
derful evening of dancing."
Portland's finest local bands
serve as the entertainment aboard
these fun filled cruises. Moonlight
Dance Cruises aboard the Spirit o f
Portland take place every Friday and
Saturday night from 11:00pm -
1:00am. The Spirit of Portland is
docked at Tom McCall Waterfront
Park at SW Front & Salmon. Tickets
are just $5.95 throughout the sum-
1 mer. For advance reservations call
the Spirit of Portland at (503) 224-
