Tem porary Staffing better know as Jefferson, has finished the
senior babe ruth state baseball tournam ent in second place for the third
year in a row, losing to the Salam 76ers 1 to 0 in a full seven inning game
at C hem eketa Com m unity Collage on monday the 1
Jefferson ended the season with a inpressive record o f 37-6,
w inning their league along with a tournam ent that they hosted this past
July. They traveled to parts California for a ten gam e road trip coming
back to Portland with a 8-2 trip record
These young players who are coached by Mark Burke and Willie
G rant will be back next year to play in the state tournam ent, advancing
on to the regional play-offs then it w ill be on to the world series being the
first team from Portland to make it past the state cham pionships.

AMATEURS WIN OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY GOLF
WORKOUT AND BARBECUE TO BENEFIT RWANDA RELIEF
WITH PROS AND STARS
Lloyd Athletic Club will be hosting a fundraising event Thursday
August 11, 1994 at 11:30am - 1:00pm and again at 5:00pm - 6:30pm to
directly aid Rwandan refugees. All donations will be made to Mercy Corps
International, a local nonprofit, private, voluntary agency dedicated to
helping the w orld's suffering, impoverished and oppressed. Their service
is through emergency relief, self-help projects and development education.
