The Paint-a-Thon is the culmination of the Boise Community Revitalization, Em­ ployment and Training Effort, a seven-week program funded by a grant from the Bureau of Housing and Community Development. For the past six weeks, a team of five neighbor­ hood youth have been working with a profes­ sional painter to scrape, caulk, sand and prime the houses. Their efforts are part of a training program which include classes at Oregon Outreach's McCoy Academy. The volunteers on Aug. 13 will come fromawide variety ofgroups, including neigh­ borhood residents, local businesses, youth programs, fraternal organizations, corpora­ tions, and schools.
