Simpson case provides another example o f an assault on the image o f black males according to a noted Los Angeles author. “ When there is one individual in that group that does anything, guess what happens? The whole group is made to pay. T hey’re put on the spot for the crimes, whether real or im ag­ ined, o f the individual,” said Dr. Earl Ofari Hutchinson, author o f The As­ sassination o f the Black Male Image. That means they are “ Prejudged and convicted o f a crime long before a court o f law kicks in.” And it be­ comes more difficult for Simpson who m ust defend him self against a pre­ sumption o f guilt.
