at (1) existing apartment projects. Shortly thereafter, bids will

Analyst.
The claims analyst examines
claims and enters data into the
system, verifies ICD and CPT-
4 codes and determines ap­
propriate action to be taken
when a claim is to be pended.
Qualified applicants will possess
the following background:
• A minimum of six months prior
front office experience in a
doctor’s office/hospital/or insur­
ance industry.
• ICD-9, CPT-4 coding experi­
ence or class.
• Prior experience in production
oriented environment.
• Medical terminology certificate.
• The ability to type 35wpm.
• The ability to work indepen­
dently and without public con­
tact.
• A commitment to contribute
positively to the team concept.

Interested bidders may obtain one set of bid docum ents at the
HAP M aintenance Office, upon receipt of $20 Twenty Dollar
deposit, which is refundable when docum ents are returned in
qood condition within 10 days after bid opening. Additional
sets may be acquired for a $20 Twenty Dollar non-refundable
fee.
A HAP representative will conduct a p re -b id to u r of the
project at 6304, NE Hoyt, at 10:00 a.m., T h u rsd a y, A u g u s t
18, 1994, and the attendance of bidders is requested. An
orientation will be given prior to moving to the project site,
questions posed during the tour, when not addressed in the
specifications, will be answered by addendum and mailed to
all bidders.
Attention is called to the provisions in “ S u p p le m e n ta l In­
s tru c tio n s to B id d e rs ” regarding MBE participation and
Division “H”, “ S p e cia l C o n d itio n s ” , regarding non-discrim i­
nation of Handicapped Persons, W orkers’ Compensation
Insurance and Pre-qualification of Contractor. Minimum sala­
ries and wages as set forth in the specifications shall be paid
on this project.
A bid security of 5% of the bid is required as prescribed in the
“ In s tru c tio n s to B id d e rs ” Division B.
The successful bidder w ill be required to furnish and pay for
a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond for 100% of
the contract amount, or separate Performance and Payment
Bonds, each for 50% or more, or a 20% cash escrow or 25 /o
irrevocable Letter of Credit of the full am ount of the Contract.
As perm itted by State law and required by the U.S. Depart­
ment of Housing and Urban Developm ent, the following rules
shall apply:
a. Retainage is 10% (not 5%)
b. Interest shall not accrue on retainage, and
c. Bonds or securities may not be substituted as an alter­
nate form of retainage.
No bidder may withdraw their bid after the hour set for
opening thereof until after the lapse of sixty (60) days from the
bid opening.
The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any bid not in
com pliance with the prescribed bidding procedures and
requirem ents and may reject any or all bids and waive all
inform alities if, in the judgm ent of HAP, it is in the public
