The Portland Art Museum and
the Urban League of Portland will
host “An African Homecoming,”
Saturday, May 14th in the Museum’s
Sculpture Court. This special evening
celebration will kick off the reinstal
lation of the Museum s Cameroon
collection and will be the last chance
to sec the Cameroon Gallery before it
closes for renovation.
Activities begin at 6:00pm with a
lecture by Dr. Roslyn A. Walker,
Curator at the National Museum of
African Art, Washington, D.C., fol
lowed by a reception featuring music
by Mai Chi Maraire and Kubatana.
Tickets are S25 per persons and can
be purchased a the Museum. Pro
ceeds from the event will benefit the
reinstallation campaign and the ac
tivities of the Urban League Guild.
