A p p a re n tly , a s p ill o f 35% h y d ro ­
gen peroxide andan u n id e n tifie d c h e m i­
cal created a vapor cloud. Em ployees o f
the P ortland H o sp ita l Service C o rp o ra ­
tio n and residents o f the su rro u n din g
area w e re evacuated. A th e rto n and
R oncarati transported a m ale p a tie n t to
M t. H o o d M e d ic a l C enter fo r fu rth e r
treatm ent o f exposure.
A hazardous m aterialclean-up team
was requested to d is in fe c t the site before
em ployees and neighbors are a llo w e d to
return to the site.
