Award”
The Northeast Community De­
velopment Corporation was awarded
and recognized as the nation’ s best in
new housing designs in conjunction
with the National Association o f Home
Builders. This was presented for the
Andrew-Collins house design project,
located at 4030 NE Rodney Avenue.
The N AHB is a membership organi­
zation of over 150,000 for-profit build­
ers.
NECDC was established by the
m inority community o f northeast
Portland in 1984 to address the need
for job-training and safe and afford­
able housing for low and moderate
income families. NECDC is engaged
in an activity which w ill sponsor the
new construction and rehabilitation
of affordable, single family homes in
the Boise, King Humboldt and Vernon
neighborhoods. NECDC is encour­
aging and promoting neighborhood
revitalization o f the four targeted
neighborhoods.
