ALTERNATIVES
Peace, Peace, But There Is No Peace!
by
M. I saacs
INCE THE BEGINNING
OF TIME, MEN HAVE
SOUGHT PEACE. B ut
war has prevailed all over the known
world. Countries against other coun
tries; races against other races; dicta
tors, in league with the devil against
people without hope and means o f
escape. Political regimes warring for
pow er and self gratification. New
weapon discovery increases, as the
ink dries on each new treaty for disar
m am ent T here seems to never be a
massacre or annihilation o f any people
so horrible that som eone or some
country will not use it to enforce its
desires on others or to seize posses
sion o f that which they have not earned
nor deserve. Y et men still cry “peace!
peace!”, as they did in the Prophet
Jerem iah’s day (Jer 4:14); but as
Patrick Henry so eloquently stated,
“T here is no peace”. “W hy stand we
here idle?” .
The great and final war is p re
dicted in the Bible, prior to the last
return o f Jesus: C hrist to our planet. A
final holocaust! M ilitary alliances
have failed; leagues o f nations have
failed; there is no balance o f power
am ong nations. The book o f Daniel in
the Bible clearly teaches about four
m ajor pow ers (Daniel 2nd. Ch.), that
will engage in actual m ilitary en
counters. D aniel 7:7-8 describes the
final kingdom o f this w orld, before
the return o f Christ. A little hom (or
king) will conquer three world pow
ers and establish him self as king and
will war with the Saints o f God; NO
PEACE. D aniel 7:21,22). All these
prophecies have taken place except
the last. The Anti-christ, that “ M an of
Sin” , has not yet appeared. This man
may not as yet be bom , but we believ
ers i G od and His plan know that
A nti-christ is com ing and there will
be no peace.
W e are not to fear for God will
control this final w ar for the souls of
men. (E zek. 38:19,20,22). E arth
quakes are already apparent; will there
be nuclear holocaust as w ell? W ho
knows? But our hope rem ains intact,
for we know the prophecies o f the last
war for peace on earth. Rev. 16:14,16).
A ccording to John, the slaughter
will be so great that the blood o f the
slain will rise to the height o f a horse’s
bridle. (Rev 14:20),. Zech. 14:1-3,9,
describes this battle, brought about by
men unable to solve their own prob
lems, even by form er conflicts. At the
end o f Z echariah’s description, we
find these words “And the Lord shall be
king over all the earth; in that day shall
there be one Lord, and His name ONE”.
Christians (believers) should not
expect peace or even again, plenty:
but they should be sober, watchful;
assum ing a w aiting attitude; not
sw ayed by religious rethoric; not
swayed by organizations or Churches
that seem to follow Christ, by aiding
the poor, w hile expounding the rights
o f groups that have no connection
with the righteousness o f God. believ
