In a related activity, Tri-Met
joined forces with the City of Portland
and Oregon Department of Transpor­
tation in establishing a workforce
clearinghouse to encourage hiring of
minorities and women on MAX and
other public projects. Projected start­
up for the $200,000, one-year pilot
program is the end of March.
In the m eantim e, the NE
Workforce Center is providing in­
terim clearinghouse services to Tri-
Met and has already contacted
Morrison Knudsen to offer assistance
with workforce recruitment. Contract
documents provide a $2/hour rebate
if the contractor registers as a training
agent and hires qualified trainees.

Contract award will be based on weighted criteria as cited in
the RFP document. Standard criteria includes, but is not
limited to, experience, cost, and schedule.
