The comprehensive preschool program, now in its second year, pro­ vides no-cost services to three-and four-year-old children and their fami­ lies who meet federal poverty guide­ lines and live within the MHCC dis­ trict. The program also provides ser­ vices to handicapped children and families with special needs. To be eligible, families must be low income and parents must be em­ ployed a minimum of 20 hours per week. Children must be three or four years old by Sept. 1,1993, and attend school at least 20 hours per week, a minimum of 80 hours per month. Parents must provide their child s transportation The program is run year-round from 7am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. For more information call the MHCC Head Start program at 256- 3436.
