Franklin Bowers Elected To Walt
Disney Board Of Directors
Reveta Franklin Bowers, a Los
Angeles educator, was elected to the
board o f directors o f The Walt Disney
Company
Mrs. Bowers. 44, w ill fill the
vacancy created by the death last Feb­
ruary o f Sharon Disney Lund, Walt
Disney ’ s daughter.
Mrs. Bowers’ term runs u ntil the
annual stockholders meeting in 1996
A career educator, Mrs. Bowers has
been head o f school at the Center for
Early Education in Los Angeles since
1976 The center has an enrollment of
475 students, from pre-schoolers
through sixth grade. She holds a B A
degree in humanities from the U ni­
versity o f Southern California and an
M. A. in development psy chology from
the College for Developmental Stud­
ies
Mrs. Bowers started her educa­
tional career asa kindergarten teacher
at the L ittle Citizens School in Los
Angeles and later taught in Los Ange­
les Unified School District and at the

She serves on the boards o f direc­
tors o f numerous educational organi­
zations, including the Educational
Records Bureau and the National As­
sociation o f 1 ndependent Schools, and
has served as an officer o f several
