An Evening
Are You Overstocking?
of
Inspirational
I read a folkstory about two
brothers, one single and the other
married w ith a large family. The
single brother, looked at his crops,
and said, “ I t ’ s not fair for me to keep
this overstocking to myself. M y
brother has so many children to feed.
So, in the middle o f the night, he
slipped into his brother's barn, and
filled it from his overstocking.
The married brother he also
looked at his crops and said to him
self, I t ’s not fair for me to keep this
overstocking to myself I have many
children who w ill take care o f me
when I get old. M y brother doesn’t
have any. So in the middle o f the
night he slipped into his brother’ s
barn, and filled from his overstock
ing.

You can imagine the amaze

morning when they found their bams
as full as they were the day before.
This stocking o f each others barn
went on night after night, until one
night they met each other while they
were about helping each other. Can’t

you just feel the love that they must
have shared at that moment when
they discovered how much love they
had for one another as brothers?
In our lives we too, have had
wonderful, fam ily persons, caring
friends, and sometimes strangers who
“ filled our barns” without counting
the cost to themselves, nor expecting
anything in return Some o f us give
even when it seems foolish to those
around us. A lot o f us give in d iffer
ent ways; foster parents, adoptive
parents, volunteers for service pro
grams, visiting the sick, we give to
others before we do for ourselves, we
give our last dime, we give w hen we
virtua lly have nothing to give.
We have learned to say I care
about you and mean it, we have
learned to go an extra mile, and we
have also learned that fam ily and
friends are not just o f flesh and blood,
but o f barns fu ll o f overstocking o f
love given without counting the cost.
Let’ s remember to give and not ex
pect nothing in retum-now that’ s
real oxerstocking!
Witness the manifestation o f the Power o f God
Fee! the thrill o f the touch o f the unseen.
Receive healings for your spirit, soul and body.
the sick, the shut-in, the careless and unconcerned.
