The dispatch communication system project consists of two related sub-projects. The first element provides a radio data communication system and computer aided dispatch for Tri-M et's 560 fixed route and 120 demand responsive buses. The second element provides radio equip­ ment to move communications for Tri-M et’s 26 light rail ve­ hicles (including all rail maintenance and rail transportation functions) to the 800 MHz frequency band. No persons, families or businesses will be displaced by the projects. Projects are in conformance with comprehensive land use and transportation planning in the area and will be programmed in the Transportation Improvement Program. A statement of Tri-M et’s charter bus service is available for inspection at the Tri-Met Administration offices. Tri-Met will not be engaging in school bus operations. Private transportation enterprise will not be directly affected by the projects. At the hearing, Tri-Met will afford opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic and environmental aspects of the projects. A person requesting and interpreter for the hearing impaired shall give Tri-Met at least 48 hours notice of the request by contacting Tri-Met at 238-4952 or TDD 238-5811, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
