Notice Of Intent
The Oregon Department of Transportation, Highway Division, is
seeking qualifications from qualified consultants to assist the
Departm ent in developing pavem ent designs during peak
workload periods.
The successful consultant will enter into a flexible service con­
tract to provide various elements of pavement design for selected
highway construction projects. Specific work tasks will include,
but not be limited to: conducting field investigations, completing
laboratory testing of subgrade soils and paving materials, and
completing pavement design recommendations for both new and
rehabilitation pavement projects.

Training on Transportation Construction Projects
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)
seeks qualified organizations to submit proposals on providing
assistance to minorities, women and disadvantaged individuals
to obtain On-the-Job Training in the highway construction indus­
try.
Interested organizations must contact either Mr. Herminio Vargas
Jr. or Ms. Eileen Gutrich at (206) 753-0322 between 8:30 a.m.
and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to obtain a Request for
Proposal (RFP). Responses to the RFP must be received no
later than 5:00 p.m. on October 23, 1992. Each proposal must
be prepared to meet the requirements identified in the Request
for Proposal. There have been no minority and/or woman
business enterprise goals established for this contract. How­
ever, minority and/orwoman owned businesses are encouraged
to apply.
The WSDOT assumes no obligation of any kind for expenses
incurred by any respondent to this solicitation.

The Risk management/Employee Benefits Department is re­
questing proposals for ongoing consultative and administrative
services for a new Health Promotion/W ellness Program. The
selected firm will serve as a consultant for the development,
com munication and implementation of a Health Promotion
Program which will begin activities in the first quarter of 1993. In
January 1994, the Port will introduce a financial incentive to the
Health Promotion Program and the firm chosen will administer
this program.
