The Oregon Department of Transportation, Transportation
Development Branch, Future Technology Research Unit, is
seeking proposals from consulting firms.
This RFP is to obtain a consultant to run a turn-key operation
for a Port-of-Entry Advanced Sorting System (PASS) opera­
tional test. This project will demonstrate the feasibility of using
mainline weigh in-motion (WIM), automatic vehicle identifica­
tion (AVI), on-board computers (OBC), and two-way communi­
cation systems to sort heavy vehicles in both lanes of the
mainline highway at highway speeds. The operational test area
is on interstate 5 northbound by the Ashland port-of-entry. The
chosen consultant will provide consultant services, hardware,
and software for the W IM/AVI/OBC and two-way com munica­
tion systems, installation, testing, monitoring, and project evalu­

within and outside of the materials organization.
May also provide work direction to others.
Demonstrated ability in problem solving and sup­
plier quality assurance programs. Bachelor’s degree
in Business or an Engineering related field plus five
to eight years procurement experience, or MBA or
equivalent required.
