The Department of Public Administration in the School of Urban and
Public Affairs at Portland State University is seeking application for a
visiting faculty member for the academic year 1992-1993 (September
1 6 ,1992-June 15,1993).
Rank: assistant or associate professor of public administration depend
ing on experience. Responsibilities of the position include a teaching
load of two courses per quarter, research, MPA and Ph.D. student
advising, and public service.
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in public administration or
closely related discipline and a commitment to scholarship and quality
teaching. The person appointed will be expected to teach in one or more
of the following areas: politics of bureaucracy, public policy, administra
tive ethics and values, basic public administration, health administration
or health economics. Two years of teaching public administration
courses at the college level are required. Experience in government
and/or dealing with midcareer students is desirable.
The MPA degree program at Portland State University is accredited by
the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration
(NASPAA).
A letter of intent, resume, example of publications or statement of
research interests, description of teaching experience, and three letters
