Tri-Met's Westside Lightrail Project is rapidly approaching with its millions
of dollars targeted for minority-owned and women-owned businesses. If
you are skilled in one of the construction crafts, and have considered
owning your own construction firm, then please consider attending a series
of free classes targeted towards new businesses. In the first session, we
will show you potential risks as well as potential benefits. We will also tell
you how much work there is for your particular skills. We will give you
details on what you need to do to get started, and how much commitment
is required on your part. The following sessions will provide you with a
basic understanding of financing, bonding, plan reading, estimating and
how to get work. All classes will be held at P ortland Community
College's Cascade Campus located at 705 North Killingsworth Street in

Senior Designer, Graphic
The Port of Portland has an immediate opening for a Senior Graphic
Designer to develop and produce graphic design to fulfill corporate
marketing/communications needs.
The successful candidate will:
• Design and produce complex marketing pieces.
• Provide art direction throughout all phases of project develop
ment.
• Produce finished art and camera-ready mechanical through
tradition and/or computer means.
• Develop conceptual design into functional design.
Education and Experience Preferred:
• Course work or experience equivalent to a degree in graphic
design, including computer design, illustration, layout, and ty
pography.
• Minimum of six years’ work experience in an in-house graphics
department or advertising agency preferred.
• Advanced understanding of computer graphics, using Macin
tosh and related programs.
Bids must be on the bid form which will be provided to prospective
bidders and must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's
check drawn on a United States bank or a bid bond payable to The
