EDUCATION
The Oregon Health Division invites requests for proposals from non-profit
groups for the development and implementation of innovative HIV/AIDS
education and prevention programs for African Americans Up to $51,600 is
available for this outreach effort for an initial twelve (12) month period.

Sealed bids will be received by the Chief Engineer, Oregon Department of
Fish and Wildlife, 2501 SW First Avenue, PO Box 59, Portland, Oregon
97207 until 3:00 PM. Pacific Daylight Time, May 6,1992, for construction of
8.0 miles of barbed wire fence removal of 4.5 miles of existing fence. The
project is located on Chesnlmnus Creek, approximately 30 miles North of
Enterprise in Wallowa County, Oregon.
Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the time and place described
above. Late bids will not be considered.
Bid documents, forms and information may be obtained at the aforemen
tioned office and calling (503) 229-5701. There will be no charge for bid
documents.
A pre-bid tour of the project site will be held on Tuesday, April 28,1992
starting at 9:00 AM. at the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife District
Office (Wallowa Fish Hatchery 82119 Fish Hatchery Lane) located on the
SW outskirts of the city of Enterprise, Oregon, Prospective bidders will
provide their own transportation. The project area lies on private property
and prospective bidders will not be granted permission to inspect the site
without the accompaniment of ODFW personnel. Attendance at the pre-bid
tour is not required to bid the job, but it is highly recommended to ensure
familiarity of the project for the prospective bidders.
No bid will be received or considered unless it contains a statement by the
bidder as a part of his bid that provisions of ORS 279.350 relative to
prevailing wage rates will be compiled with.
No bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening
unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding 30 days. The Depart
ment of Fish and Wildlife, reserves the right to reject any of all bids.

Assisted Housing Program:
As of May 1, 1992, the Housing Authority of Portland (HAP) will be closinb
the Section 8 waiting list for two and three bedroom assistance until further notice.
This means HAP will not accept pplications for the Section 8 Housing Certificate
and Housing. Voucher Programs for these bedroom sizes.
At the present time, the Housing Authority of Portland does not have enough
2 and 3 bedroom Certificates and Vouchers to assist the number of applicants now
on the waiting list within the next two years.
When additional assistance becomes available, HAP will re-open this portion
of the waiting list.
