Maintenance Painting and Cleaning
Job No. #C1-9906
Sealed bids are requested for labor and materials to renovate a
substantial num ber of rental units for the Housing Authority of
Portland (HAP). Bids will be received at the HAP Maintenance
office, located at 8910 N W oolsey Avenue, Portland, Oregon,
97203 until 2:00 p.m., PST, Tuesday. December 17, 1991.
Shortly thereafter, bids will be opened and publicly read. Inter­
ested parties are welcome to attend.
Briefly, the work consists of cleaning and/or painting interiors of
600 to 700 housing units. The contract shall be open-end and
bids shall reflect unit prices for the work. The project shall be
continuous over a one year period with an approximate annual
value of $300,000. A one year contract extension may be
considered for exceptional performance, at the discretion of
HAP.
Interested bidders may obtain one set of bid documents at the
HAP Maintenance Office, noted above, upon receipt of a $20.
deposit which is refundable when documents are returned in
good condition within 10 days after bid opening. Additional sets
may be obtained for $10.00 each which is not refundable.
A HAP representative will conduct a pre-bid tour of several units
commencing at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12,1991, and
the attendance of bidders is required. Bids will not be accepted
from Contractors not represented at this meeting. Bidders shall
meet at the HAP Maintenance Office for oreintation prior to the
tour. Questions posed at that time, when not addressed in the
specifications, will be answered by addendum and mailed to all
bidders.

opening.
The successful bidder shall provide satisfactory Performance
and Payment Bonds to satisfy 100% of a $50,000 contract con­
sideration. The Contract will be considered a Service Contract
and as such will not be subject to withholding of retainage sums.
The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any bid not in com ­
pliance with the prescribed bidding procedures and requirements
and may reject any or all bids and waive all informalities if, in the
judgem ent of HAP, it is in the public interest to do so. Questions
