Security Manager to super­
vise the Safety/Security Offi­
cers and contracted security
guards. Principal duties will
be: coordinating and super­
vising all aspects of zoo secu­
rity ¡developing and maintain­
ing an operating manual; pro­
viding reports to zoo admini­
stration; reviews security offi­
cer reports and consults with
various staff on problems; es­
tablishes and maintains ef­
fective patrol verification sta­
tion sequence; reviews and
maintains records of verifica­
tion sheets from all shifts; in­
teracts in a courteous man­
ner with the public when pro­
viding first aid; assists zoo
visitors in enforcing zoo rules
and regulations; provides es­
cort duties for employees as
necessary; ensures zoo se­
curity at closing; provides af­
ter-hours routine patrols
through zoo and zoo parking
lot; analyzes and prepares
budget requests and moni­
tors for compliance; admini­
sters the collections for zoo
damages; represents the zoo
in dealing with insurance car­
riers, law enforcement offi­
cials, state and federal safety
agencies; organizes first aid
and CPR training programs
annually; schedules staff
participants, ensures thatfirst
aid stations comply with Ore­
gon State standards; orders
and maintains first aid sup­
plies; serves as zoo safety of­
ficer and organizes programs
for safe working conditions at
the zoo; identifies conditions
to minimize liability claims;
serves as principal represen­
tative for zoo administration
on the safety committee; di­
rects and manages the zoo’s
hazardous materials and loss
control programs; directs and
manages the zoo key and lock
control system and the lock-
out/tag-out program. Performs
other related duties as as­
