Judge Roosevelt Robinson, o f the
District Court in Portland, has com ­
pleted a com prehensive judicial educa­
tion course at The National Judicial
College in Reno.
“ General Jurisdiction” is designed
to help judges in decision making,
sentencing, conducting trials, and
managing evidence. The course, o f­
fered three times each year, is attended
by judges from throughout the nation,
and is required for most judges.
W hile at the College, Judge R obin­
son had an opportunity to meet Miss
A merica 1991, who spoke on domestic
violence, and also met with the Black
Student O rganization on the main
campus.
The National Judicial College, on
the campus o f the University o f Ne­
vada, Reno, trains more than 1,800 trial
and adm inistrative law judges per year.
Affiliated with the America Bar A sso­
ciation, NJC is the leading judicial
education and training institution in the
nation. Since its establishm ent in 1963,
the College has issued more than 27,000
certificates of completion to judges from
all 50 stales and 118 foreign countries.
