Duties: Supervision: assists with hiring, orienting, supervising, and evalu­
ating House of Umoja Staff, responsible for implementation of appropri­
ate policies and procedures of all program components. Responsible for
supervison of the design and maintenance of client records systems to
ensure the availability of all needed information and maintenance of the
higest professional standards of confidentiality. Compliance with Con­
tracts and Regulation: responsible for establishing systems and super­
vision practices which will assurue compliance with all contractual and
regulatory requirements including the rules of the Oregon Childrens’s
Services Division (OAR Chapter 412, Division 24) governing licensing
of private child-caring agency residential serivees. Works closely with
the Director of Fiscal and Information Systems to develop appropriate
program budgets and to assure control of expenditures within budget­
ary limits.
Qualificaitons
M.A. degree in social work, psychology, or related field and minimum or
relevant four years experiecne in supervision of profesional staff. How­
ever BA maybe considered with extensive experience. Extensive work
experience comparable to degree and work requirement will also be
considered. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing
effective program policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience assuring compliance with contractual and regu­
latory requirements. Knowledge of the requirements for providing care
and treatment appropriate to clients served by the Agency. Demon­
strated experience supervising coordinators effectively. Demonstrated
experience working effectively with the African American community
and with individuals from diverse racial, culrtural economic and educa­
tional backgorunds. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent written and
oral communicatin skill. Ability to work flexible schedule when necessary
and accomodate flexible living arrangement.
Demonstrated ability to woik effectively with gang-impacted youth Dem­
onstrated high ethical character, including honesty, fairness, respect for
the rights of others, respect for local, state, and federal laws, and no
history of serious criminal activity which may have a detrimental effect
on the Program Director’s ability to supervise the care of children.
Demonstrated Ability to meet short time lines and respond under pressure.

The Project Director’s responsibilities Include:
