August 26. The Five hour festival took place at Pioneer Square, and was free o f charge. It featured colorful A frican dress, as well as engera-traditional A frican fo o d - served bv the Portland chapter o f the Eritrean R elief Committee, as a fund raiser fo r Eritrea Ethiopian refugees. The event also featured Obo Addy and his band Okropong, playing African music and performing traditional dances. The photos below, at right, and on the front page are scenes from the festival.
