The Census Bureau and the
D epartm ent o f H ousing and U rban D e­
velopm ent planned the survey to obtain
current in fo rm a tio n on housing, one o f
the m ost im p o rta n t measures o f the na­
tio n ’ s econom y.
T he agencies w ill issue a report
fo r each m e tro p o lita n area surveyed 18
m onths a fte r the in te rv ie w s have been
com pleted.

used o n ly to c o m p ile statistical totals.
