Portland, OR 97203, u ntil 2:00 p.m., P.D.T., Tuesday, August 14,1990. Shortly
thereafter, bids w ill be opened and pub licly read. The attendance o f bidders is
welcomed.
B rie fly , the w ork consists o f cleaning and/or painting interiors o f 600 to 700
rental housing units. The contract shall be open end and bids shall reflect unit
prices fo r the work. The project shall be ongoing over a one-year period w ith a
m axim um consideration o f $300,000.
Interested bidders may obtain one set o f bid documents at the H AP
Maintenance O ffice mentioned above upon receipt o f $20 deposit which is
refundable when documents are returned in good condition by August 24,1990.
A d ditio na l sets may be acquired at $10 each, w hich is not refundable.
A H A P representative w ill conduct a pre-bid tour o f several units commenc­
ing at 10:00 a .m „ Thursday, August 9, 1990 and the attendance o f bidders or
representatives thereof is required. Bids w ill not be accepted from contractors
not attending this meeting. Bidders shall meet at the H AP Maintenance O ffice
fo r orientation p rio r to the tour. Questions posed at hat time, i f not addressed in

A m inim um bid security o f $2,500 is required w ith the contractor’s
submitted bid.
A ttention is called to the provisions addressed in D ivision H “ Special Con­
d itions,” regarding Equal Em ployment Opportunity, a m inim um o f 20% M B E
participation, EEO compliance reports, certification o f non-segregated facilities
and a w aiver from enforcing the payment o f non-federal prevailing wages when
said wages, exclusive o f any fringe benefits, exceeds the applicable wage rate

mental Services w ill be issuing a Request for Proposals for services needed to
carry out an apartment recycling P roject
The purpose o f the project is to set up recycling systems or depots in approxi­
mately 380 apartment buildings in Portland. Sites w ill be chosen by the city, and
the city w ill provide the recycling containers to be set up at those sites. Services
requested include w orking w ith management/owners at apartment sites, choos­
ing a design/location fo r the recycling depots, arranging for delivery and set up
o f the city-provided equipment to the individual buildings, contacting garbage
haulers to arrange an in itia l pickup schedule, providing recycling education to a ll
tenants at each site, and program evaluation. This is acontinuation and expansion
o f a sim ilar program from the past year. Budget fo r the contract w ill be
