exertion; carpentry, painting, mechani­

One year experience in general mainte­
nance in a large public assembly facil­
ity. You must be able to tolerate in­
clement weather. You must be physi­
cally able to perform moderately heavy
labor. Motorized equipment and tool
operation and maintenance. You must
be able to work on heights. You must
have a valid drivers license.
You must be able to work as a team
member and on your own, as well as to
supervise temporary clean-up and set­

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Cost Estimates for replacing the
Sellwood Bridge with provision for Light Rail Service
The Regional Rail Program is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants
for a study to determine the cost of replacing the Sellwood Bridge with existing
or expanded service for auto traffic plus the provision for light rail service.
Consultants submitting proposals should have experience with light rail transit
planning, engineering bridge design and cost estimation experience. The con­
sultant will examine the cost of replacing the bridge with no provision for light
rail. The cost to replace the bridge with light rail, and the cost to build a new
bridge for light rail only, in addition to replacing the existing bridge for auto
only use. The light rail bridge would cross in the Sellwood area with the intent
of serving Milwaukie.
The City of Portland encourages participation of minority/women business
enterprise contractors in its projects.

Regional Rail P rogram .
The Development Division Chief of the Department of Planning and Devel­
opment, Yamhill County, McMinnville, Oregon will receive sealed bids until
4:00 p.m. May 29,1990 for the Kauer Farm Waste Water Project in conjunc­
tion with the Kauer Farmworker Housing project.
Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the Yamhill County Depart­
ment of Planning and Development, County Courthouse, 535 E. Fifth St.,
McMinnville, OR 97128-4596, telephone 434-7516.
Bids shall be mailed or delivered to the Department of Planning and
Development at the above address, no later than 4:00 p.m., May 29,1990, at
which time they will be publicly opened and read. Proposals shall be
submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked “ Kauer Farm Waste Water
Project” and shall show the name and address of the bidder from the outside.
This project, funded by the Oregon Community Development Block Grant
Program, requires full compliance with all Federal and state of Oregon labor
provisions and minority and anti-discrimination requirements and Executive
Order 11246 (Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to Ensure Equal
Employment Opportunity.) All bids shall be based upon current Davis Bacon
wage guidelines as set forth by the U.S. Dept. of Labor.
No bid proposal will be received or considered by the County unless the bid
proposal contains a statement by the bidder that the provision of ORS 279.350
(prevailing wage) and current Daivs-Bacon wage guidelines shall be com­
plied with. Each bid must also contain a statement as to whether the bidder
is a “ resident bidder,” as defined in ORS 279.029. Contractors or subcon­
tractors working on this project do not need an asbestos abatement license
(ORS 468.883), but must possess a current DEQ license for installation of
subsurface sewage treatment systems. Time is of the essence in the comple­
tion of this project; potential bidders should be prepared to commence work
within seven (7) days of the Notice to Proceed to the successful bid. Yamhill
