Sealed bids are requested for two separate contracts to provide labor
and materials for site and dwelling renovations. Bids for both projects
w ill be received at the Housing Authority o f Portland (HAP) Mainte­
nance O ffice, 8910 N.Woolsey Avenue, Portland, OR 97203, until
2.00 p.m., P.D.T., June 5,1990. Shortly thereafter, bids w ill be opened
and publicly read. The attendance o f bidders is welcomed.
The projects are located at the Hillsdale Terrace Apartment, 6775 S.W.
26th, Portland, OR. The time allowed to complete both projects is 250
consecutive calendar days. Work is described as follows:
PROJECT A: SITE AN D GENERAL CONSTRUCTION
Site demolition o f concrete walks, stairs, retaining walls, and aban­
doned utilities. New construction includes site concrete work, site
furnishings, landscaping, irrigation system, and general site improve­
ments.
PROJECT B: BU ILD IN G RENOVATIONS
Metal roof overlay, demolition and reconstruction o f entries, screen
walls, balcony rails, building stoops, and construction o f rear entry
porches.
Interested bidders may obtain one set o f bid documents at the HAP
Maintenance Office, mentioned above, upon receipt o f $75 deposit
which is refundable when documents are returned in good condition
within 10 days after bid opening. Additional sets may be acquired for
$40 each, which is not refundable.
A HAP representative w ill conduct a pre-bid tour o f the projects com­
mencing at 10:00 a.m., May 24,1990, and the attendance o f bidders is
requested. Interested parties should meet at the HAP Maintenance
office for orientation prior to the tour. Questions posed at that lime,
when not addressed in the specifications, w ill be answered by adden­
dum and mailed to all bidders.
A bid security o f 5% o f the bid is required as prescribed in the “ Instruc­
tions to Bidders” (Division B).
Attention is called to the provisions addressed in Division H “ Special
Conditions” , regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, a minimum
o f 20% M BE
participation, EEO compliance reports, certification
o f non-segregated facilities and a waiver from enforcing the payment
o f nonfederal prevailing wages when said wages, exlcusive o f any
fringe benefits, exceeds the applicable wage rate determined by the
secretary o f HUD.
No bidder may withdraw their bid after the hour set for opening unti

The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any bid not in com pli­
ance with the prescribed biding procedures and may reject any or all

Sealed bids are requested for labor and materials to provide sewer
hookups at two apartment complexes. Bids w ill be received by the
Housing Authority o f Portland, Oregon (HAP), 8910 N. Woolsey
Avenue, Portland, OR 97203, until 2:00 p.m., P.D.T., Tuesday, May 29,
1990. Shortly thereafter, bids w ill be opened and publicly read. The
attendance o f bidders is welcomed.
The following is a description of each project:
1. Carlton Court apartments, 24 units, Job No. CO-2601,5241-4327 N.
Killings worth, Portland, OR.
2. Powellhurst Woods Apartments; 34 units, Job. No.l CO-3702,11200
SE Holgate Avenue, Portland, OR.
Basically, the work consists o f bypassing existing septic systems and
installing underground plumbing to newly installed sewers. Excavation
backfill and site restoration is required.
Interested bidders may obtain one set o f bid documents at the HAP
Maintenance Office, mentioned above, upon receipt o f $20 deposit
which is refundable when documents are returned in good condition
within 10 days after bid opening. Additional sets may be acquired for
$10 each, which is not refundable.

Portland State University invites applications and nominations for two positions:
(1) General Adviser/Business Manager. Supervision o f administrative office op­
erations; management o f multicultural micro-computer lab and advocacy, advising
and support for student organizations. A Bachelors is required; knowledge o f
personal computers and experience in and sensitivity to a multicultural, postsecon­
dary student environment is critical. Preferred qualifications include: Master's
degree and one year o f experience in office management and/or student personnel
administration in higher education.
(2) Adviser, Student Organizations & Leadership Development Advises and
advocates for student organizations and union; develops programs and strategies for
student leadership development A Bachelor’ s degree and ability to work effec­
tively with a diverse student population is required. Preferred qualifications in­
clude: M A or other terminal degree and experience in promoting student leadership
and advising student organizations in higher education.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Each position is a fulltim e, 1.0 FTE, twelve-
month, fixed-term, nontenure track unclassified appointment w/o rank and begins
July 1,1990. Salary rate is $20,664. Employment after that date is contingent upon
renewal o f funding and satisfactory performance.
