The Port ot Portland has an immediate opening for a Superintendent,
Aviation Maintenance 1 ethnical Service. The sir ecsstul candidate
w ill:
1. Manage and direct Technical Support Department providing
services to the maintenance operation. Responsibilities include
budget planning and control, in-house procedures for identifying
accurate cost intarmation, systematic preventative maintenance pro­
gram, operation o f compuici based maintenance management sys­
tem.
2. CoorditiUt V tic dopi lent o f ten-year pavement improvement
program and budget reports.
3. Manage signale operations at PDX.
4 Manage asbestos inspictionand maintenance program fo r A via­
tion Department
5 Develop v eh :e specifications.

Direct snow and ice operations when acting as snow team
leader.
Preferred qualifications include:
• Thorough knowledge o f pavement management systems, mainte­
nance management systems.
Demonstrated experience in contract administration, budgeting
principles, and construction.
■ Working knowledge ot equipment maintenance, cost estimating
and graphics.
Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
A bility to organize and coordinate multiple concurrent activities.
A bility to work cooperatively as a team member.
In addition to a starting d ia ry range o f $30,532 to $35,184 per year,
commensurate with experience, the Port offers a comprehensive

LANDSCAPE GARDENER HELPER
The successful candidate will:
1. ) Operate and perform minor field repairs and seasonal maintenance
on specialized power landscape equipment. Makes minor repairs
on small power equipment.
2. ) Provide general plant care, including but not limited to pruning and
damage repair.
31) Water trees andshrubs using water truck and pump. Makes minor re­
pairs and adjustments to water pump when necessary.
4. ) Pick up brush, removes litter, and rakes barked and graveled areas.
5. ) Prioritize daily and seasonal workload.
6. ) Direct and motivate seasonal help.
7. ) Apply pesticides and fertilizers while under supervision o f licensed
applicator.
Preferred qualifications include:
* General knowledge ofhorticulture and/or general knowledgte of
plant types and general care o f same.
* General knowledge o f irrigation systems, functions, and parts.
* General knowledge o f pesticides and fertilizers.
* General knowledge o f typical landscape equipment and maintenance
o f same.
* A b ility to lift 50 pounds and work outside in all types o f inclement
weather and around dust and heavily pollenated plants.
* Must possess a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license and meet
standards o f Port driving policy.
This is a bargaining unit position with a starting salary o f $9.43 per hour
in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
