The Hornet’s let another chance to score slip through their hands when Bueno fum bled the ball at the V ikings 10. But then P.S.U. overreached themselves trying to push the ball upfield in h a lfs final minute, a scrambling Del Andrae slipped, lost his grip on the football and Keiley Matthews recovered. W ith only enough time for one play on the clock, W yant found Myhael Johnson open over the middle. Johnson made a juggling catch in the end-zone ending the h alf w ith P.S.U. leading 20-7. During the third quarter w ith 10:24 remaining Barrett made his second scor­ ing interception o f the night. P.S.U. topped it w ith a two point conversion making the score 28-7 P.S.U. The action picked after that, W yant connected w ith Brye fo r a 62 yard touch­ down to up the score to 28-13 after a missed conversion. The Viks groundded out a 72 yard drive that was capped w ith a Harvin 1 yard plunge putting the game out o f reach at 35-13. sketball League F all /W inter P rogram The Portland Pro-am Basketball League will be starting upon November 11th & 12th at Portland Community College Cascade Gym located on N. Killingsworth across the street from Jefferson High School. Thesix teams are generically named after N B A mascots and league play is governed by NBA rules. The league also features the development of NBA referees. A ll games are played on the weekends 4:00 p.m., 5:30 pan. and 6:00 p.tn. on Saturdays and 2:00 pan., 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. The Portland Pro-Am Basketball League will be having it’s Second Annual Basketball Preview, featuring a total o f 16 trams from : Seattle, Y akim a. Vancouver, B.C. and Portland. The dates of the preview are November 18th (S a t) & 19th (Sun.), 1989. Eight games will be played on Saturday & Sunday at the PCC Cascade Gym . Games w ill be played from 9:00 a jn . to 7:30 p.m. on both Saturday & Sunday. Following the games on Saturday there will be a Dance involving the players at the Inn at the Coliseum from 8:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Cost for the dance w ill be $5.00. A result o f Satur­ day's contest was that the V ikings moved up the national ranking to 16th rated o f N C A A D ivision I-A A teams. The V ikings drew first blood on a fan called play, (which was their first from scrimmage) on an 80 yard bomb from Del Andrae, to w ide-receiver Reynaldo Shackleford. Here's what you need to know. • Both teens who have licenses and who receive new provisional licenses will automatically lose their license for at least 90 days if a breath test shows a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of more than .00. No alcohol is allowed. If you refuse to take the breath test, you'll lose your license for at least a year. • Beginning October 3, 1989, when you apply for a driver license, you'll take a safe-driving practices test in addition to the standard driving test. You’ll also get a new kind of driver license. It's "provisional." It's a test. If you pass, it becomes a regular license when you're 18. • For teens with a provisional license, the new law speeds up the penalty and driver improvement process. For example: After iust two minor violations, such as improper lane use, you'll have to meet with a driver improvement counselor to talk about ways to keep your license After three minor violations, you'll lose your license until you complete a driver improvement program.
