MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT
The Port of Portland has an immediate
opening for a Maintenance Super­
intendent to supervise a planned
maintenance system which includes
planning, scheduling, and staffing
of a 7-day, 24-hour maintentance
operation, evaluation of maintenance
problems, direct corrective action,
and work closely with the leads to
maintain a high level of continuity
within the Maintenance Department.
Duties include but are not limited to
the following:
* Evaluates work requests and sched­
ules work assignments with craft lead-
men; contracts for work as required.
* Evaluates efficiency of work crews
and leads.
* Maintains good working relationships
with unions.
* Supervises and evaluates section leads
performance.
* Responsible for hiring and discipli­
nary actions as required.
* Responsible for evaluation and revi­
sion of preventative maintenance sched­
ules.
* Manages and develops future budget
needs of department, both capital and
operating.
* Responsible for safety throughout the
section activities.
* May fill in for the Aviation Mainte­
nance Mgr. in his absence.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated successful supervision
experience at a large facility, airport
maintenance department preferred.
* Strong oral and written communica­
tion skills.
* Successful demonstrated ability to
supervise others.
* Ability to plan and schedule a mul­
tiple-task work load.
* Ability to preplan cost estimates and
follow through on work projects.
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Demonstrated ability to devise and
initiate efficient method and follow-
through to conclusion of a variety of jobs
at the same time.
* Ability to coordinate employees,
tenants, contractors, and service repre­
sentatives to achieve optimum results.
In addition to a comprehensive benefit

salary commensurate with experi­
ence, and a full salary range of
$33,493-$50,715.
