It is a true saying that i f a man

good man whose life cannot be spo rect some problem s in the church.
B y this tim e problem s has arisen

and th o u g h tfu l, o rd e rly, and fu ll o f church government, and various aspets

good deeds. He m ust e n jo y having

a d rin k e r o r quarrelsom e, but he must
be gentle and k in d , and not be one
w ho loves m oney.
He m ust have a w ell-behaved
fam ily, w ith children eho obey quickly
and q u ie tly . F o r i f a man ca n ’ t make
his o w n little fa m ily behave, how
can he h elp the w hole church?
The pastor m ust not be a new
C h ristia n , because he m ig h t be proud
o f being chosen so soon, and pride
come before a fa ll - Satan’ s d o w n fa ll
is an exam ple. A lso , he must be w e ll
spoken o f by people outside lthe
church-those who aren’ t C h ristia n s-
so that Satan ca n ’ t trap him w ith
many accusations, and leave him
w ith o u t freedom to lead his flo c k .
The deacons m ust be the same
sort o f good, steady men as the pas
tors. T h e y m ust not be heavy d rin k
ers and must not be greedy fo r money.
They m ust be earnest, wholehearted
fo llo w e rs o C h rist w ho is the hidden
Source o f th e ir faith. B efore they are
asked to be deacons they should be
given oth e r jo b s in the church as a
test o f th e ir character and a b ility , and
i f they d o w e ll, then they m ay be
chosen as deacons.
T h e ir w ive s m ust be th o u g h tfu l,
not heavy drinkers, n o t gossipers,
but faithful in everything they d. Dea
cons should have o n ly one w ife and
choose as o ffic e rs fo r the church o f
the liv in g G od, w h ic h contains and
holds high the truth o f God.
It is qu ite true that the w a y to liv e
a g o d ly life is not an easy m atter. B u t
the answer lies in C h ris t, w ho came
to earth as a m an, was proved spot
less and pure in his S p irit, was served
by angels, was preached am ong the
nations was accepted b y men e ve ry
where and was received up again to
his g lo ry in heaven.
B ut the H o ly S p irit te lls us c le a rly
that in the last tim es some in the
church e ill turn aw ay fro m C h ris t
and become eager followers o f teacher
with devil-inspired ideas. These teach
ers w ill te ll lie s w ith s tra ig h t faces
and do it so ofte n that th e ir c o n
sciences w o n ’ t even bother them.
T hey w ill say it is w ro n g to be m ar
ried and w ro n g to eat meat, even
legends.
Spend your tim e and en
ergy in the exercise o f keeping s p iri
tu a lly fit. B o d ily exercise is a ll rih t,
but s p iriu ta l exercise is m uch more
im p o rta n t and is a tonic fo r a ll you
do. So exercise y o u rs e lf s p iritu a lly
and practice being a better C h ristia n
because that w ill help you n o t o n ly
n ow in this life , but in the next life ,
too. T h is is the truth and everyone
should accept it. W e w o rk hard and
s u ffe r much in order that people w ill
b e lieve it, fo r o u r hope is in the liv in g
G o d w ho died fo r a ll, and p a rtic u
la rly fo r those w ho have accepted his
salvation.
T o a ll the C h ristia n fa m ily me-
merS, you are being adm onished to
teach these things and m ake sure
everyone learns them w e ll. D o n ’ tle t
them fo llo w the w ay you teach and
liv e ; th ro w y o u rs e lf in to y o u r tasks
so that everyone m ay notice y o u r
im p ro ve m e n t and progress. Keep a
close w atch on a ll you do and th in k,
Stay true to w hat is rig h t and G od
The riches co m in g fro m above are
