PORTLAND PRO-AM BASKET­
BALL LEAGUE
1989 SUMMER PROGRAM
The Portland P ro -A m Basketball League is underw ay fo r the third
consecutive year at the Portland C o m m u n ity C o lle g e Cascade G ym nasium .
The best athletes in Portland w ill be there c ith e r as players o r spectators
because n w ill be the best basketball a va ila b le this side o f the T ra ilb la z e r
season.
T alent from the N B A , colleges, and in ternational league w ill com plete a
regular season schedule each Saturday and Sunday fro m June 10 to July 22.
Games w ill be played at 2:00pm , 3:30pm , 5 :00pin and 6:pm . P la y o ffs w ill
begin on July 23 at the S alvation A rm y .
The e ig h t teams are g e n e rica lly named after N B A mascots. The league
play is governed w ith N B A rules and features the developm ent lo r N B A
referees.
The program has such outstanding c o m p e titio n and entertainm ent that
league hopes to draw a crossection o f people th ro u g h o u t the co m m u n ity.
W ith a ll the p o sitive role models in v o lv e d we hope to also have a positive
influence on young people.
