S8,88O if you arc age 65 - 70 and
$6,480 if you are under age 65. At
age 70 and older, the earnings limits
do not apply. Once you earn over the
limits, every $2 in excess earnings
reduce the benefit by SI. Beginning
next year, $1 inbenefits will be with­
held for every $3 in earnings.

under Social Security?
ANSWER: Generally, only earn­
ings you receive from work or self-
employment income earned after you
retire. Savings, investments, private
insurance and other typical types of
retirement income that are not earn­
