he Port of Portland has a challenging opportunity available for
an E lectrical Inspector w orking in its Construction Engineering
G roup on heavy industrial and com m ercial type facilities.
Your responsibilities will involve perform ing on-site electrical
inspections of new facility construction and the rebuilding of
existing facilities a cco rd in g to code, Port specifications and
co n tra ct term s. Facilities include high voltage, secondary voltages,
control and signal w iring for airport and marine facility equipm ent
You will w ork with Port design staff, consultants, contractors, and
b u ilding co d e authorities in helping to assure that the Port m ain­
tains high standards of electrical work, as well as obtain the quality
w orkm anship and products specified.
To qualify you m ust have had at least two years'
experience as a General Supervising Electrician, a currently valid
O regon General Supervisor E lectrician's license and agree to
b ecom e certified by the state as Electrical Inspector A-level within
six m onths of hire. (Inform ation regarding Oregon licensing
pro ce d u re s is available for out-of-state applicants). Substantial ex­
perience in com m ercial and industrial building construction
methods, industrial electrical equipm ent and high voltage installa­
tions is necessary A valid driver's license is required.

proof of prequalification by the Oregon Department of Transportation must
be actually received or postmarked to Multnomah ‘County Purchasing
Section by not later than 10 days prior to bid opening.
All bidders must comply with the requirements of the prevailing wage
law in ORS 279.350.

Contractors and subcontractors must be licensed for asbestos abate­
ment work if the project involves working with asbestos.
NONDISCRIM INATION: Bidders on this work will be required to
comply with the provisions of Federal Executive Order 11246. The require­
ments for Bidders and Contractors are explained in the Specifications.
No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by a check
payable to Multnomah County, certified by a responsible bank, or in lieu
thereof, a surety bond for an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the
aggregate proposal. The successful bidder shall furnish a bond satisfactory
to the Board in the full amount of the contract.
Multnomah County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

The Oregon Department of Transportation, Highway Division, Environ­
mental Section is seeking a Statement of Qualifications from a qualified
consultant to do research and docum entation in the field of biology on
selected highway construction projects throughout the State of Oregon.
The successful consultant will enter into a flexible services contract and
provide for selected aspects of environmental research for highway construc­
tion projects. The Environmental Section will assign work on a project by
project basis, and request different kinds of biological research (general
biology, wetlands evaluation and mitigation and biologic assessments) and
docum entation. Normal notification prior to the com m encem ent of work on a
project will be 6 weeks.
The m axim um vlaue of the 2 year contract will be $50,000 with a renewal
clause if both parties agree.
