All bidders must comply with the requirements of the prevailing wage
law in ORS 279.350.

Contractors and subcontractors must be licensed for asbestos abate­
ment work if the project involves working with asbestos.

HOUGHTON STREET SITEWORK • PROJECT NO. C8-0102
Sealed bids for labor and materials to construct sitework will be re­
ceived by the Housing Authority of Portrland, Oregon, 8910 N. Woolsey
Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97203, until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18,
1988. Shortly thereafter, bids will be opened and read aloud. The
attendance of Bidders is welcomed.
Basically, the work consists of excavation and sitework for vacating an
existing unimproved section of street which includes removing trees
and various site elements on N. Houghton Street and constructing a 6
high fence and a 6’ wide concrete sidewalk with lighting for a 10’ wide
pedestrian way between North Dana Street and N. Woolsey Avenue.
Work shall also include constructing sections of sidewalk and curbs at
the East and West ends of N. Houghton Street and extensive
landscaping.
Interested bidders may obtain one set of bid documents from the HAP
Mainteance Office, at the above address, upon deposit of $20 which is
refundable when documents are returned to HAP in good condition
within 10 days after bid opening. Additional documents may be
acquired for $10 per set which is not refundable.
A HAP representative will conduct a pre-bid tour of the job site
commencing at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 6,1988. The meeting will
convene at the Maintenance Office and the attendance of bidders is
requested. Questions Posed at that time regarding the project, (when
not addressed in specifications) will be answered by addenda and
mailed to plan holders.
No bid will be considered unless accompanied by bid security in the
form of certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond payable to the
Housing Authority of Portland in an amount equal to 10% of the bid
which is to be forfeited as fixed and liquidated damages should bidder
neglect or refuse to enter into a contract or provide a suitable bond for
the faithful performance of the work when bidder is notified of contract
award.
A minimum of 20% MBE participation in the execution of this project is
a HAP requirement and the methods the bidder proposes in order to
comply with this requirements shall be submitted on a notarized “ Cer­
tification of MBE Participation” form which shall become a part of the
bid.
Bidder may not withdraw bid after the hour set for opening thereof until
a lapse of sixty (60) days thereafter has occurred.
The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any bid not in compliance
with the prescribed bidding procedures and requirements and may
reject any or all bids and waive all informalities if, in the judgment of
HAP, it is in the public interest to do so. Questions regarding this pro­

ATTENTION RENTERS!
You may qualify for Housing Assistance under the Section 8 Rental
Assistance Program for low income families, handicapped, disabled
and elderly persons. The Housing Authority of Clackamas County will
je accepting applications for families who qualify for one, two, three,
our and five bedroom units effective at 8:30 a.m. Eligibility will be based
upon income and family size.
Assistance is in the form of a rent subsidy and may be provided in the
iome in which you presently live, subject to program criteria.
We w ill be accepting applications for the Section 8 Rental Assistance
3rogram until 5:00 p.m., March 31, 1989 for one, two and three bedroom
applications. The waiting list for four and five bedroom applications will
remain open until further notice.
Priority will be given to families who claim and qualify for a preference
under the Federal Preference law. Families who have been displaced
through no fault of their own, living in substandard housing as defined
3y HUD, and/or families who pay more than 50% of their income for
rent and utilities would qualify for a preferred status.
Occupants of and applicants on the present waiting list for Public
Housing and other assisted housing must specifically apply for the Sec­
tion 8 Rental Assistance Program if you wish to participate.

CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS FOR COMPLETE
PRESSURE SEWER SYSTEM - READY FOR SERVICE
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Camas Office of the Finance
Department, 616 N.E. 4th Avenue, Camas, Washington until 9:30 A.M. on
October 4,1988 and will then and there be opened and publicly read for
the construction of the improvements.
All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in
cash, certified check, cashier’s check or surety bond in an amount equal
to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the suc­
cessful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactop/

The work shall consist of furnishing and installing 2" main line piping,
interceptor tanks, piping, fittings, valves, valve boxes, air/vacuum
release valves and other miscellaneous work shown on the engineering
drawings necessary for complete pressure sewer system ready for
service.
The City of Camas reserves the right to reject any or all proposals if
found to be higher than the estimated cost and to waive any formality or
technicality in any proposal in the interest of the City.
