INVITATION FOR BID
COLUMBIA VILLA SEWER REPAIRS - PROJECT NO. C7-0105 - JULY 13,1988
Sealed bids are requested for labor and materials to perform repairs to
the existing sewer system in the Columbia Villa Housing development.
Bids will be received at the HAP Maintenance Office, 8910 N. Woolsey
Avenue, Portland, OR 97203, until 2:00 p.m. (PDT), Tuesday August 9,
1988. Shortly thereafter, bids will be opened and publicly read.
Attendance of bidders is welcomed.
Basically the work consists of constructing clean-outs and access
openings; root removal, spot repairing 6,8, and 10 inch lines and general
cleaning of sewer system.
Qualified contractors interested in bidding may procure one set of bid
documents at the HAP Maintenance Office noted above, upon deposit
of $20 Deposit will be refunded when documents are returned to HAP in
good condition within 10 days after bid opening. Additional sets may be
acquired for $10 which is not refundable.
A HAP representative will conduct a pre-bid tour of the project commen-
cino at 9 00 a m Friday, July 29, 1988. The meeting will convene at the
Maintenance Office and attendance of bidders is requested. Questions
posed at that time regarding the project when not addressed ini t e
specifications, will be answered by addenda and mailed to all bidders.
No bid will be considered unless accompanied by bid security in the
form of certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond payabe to the
Housing Authority of Portland in an amount equal to 1 0 /o o the .bid

neglect or refuse to enter into contract or provide a suitable bond for the

A minimum of 20% MBE participation in the execution of this project is

Prequalification applications or statements must be prepared during
the period of one year prior to the bid date. Prequalification application
or proof of prequalification by the Oregon Department of Transportation
must be actually received or postmarked to Multnomah County by not
later than 10 days prior to bid opening.
All bidders must comply with the requirements of the prevailing wage
law in ORS 279.350.

tion in one or more of the following subcontract areas: bidder s option,
