REPAIRS
Sealed bids for Roof Repairs at seven properties
will be accepted by the Housing Authority of Port­
land, 8910 N. Woolsey Avenue, Portland, OR 97203
until 2 p.m., PDT, Thursday, Nov. 5, 1987. Follow­
ing a short interval, bids will be opened publicly and
read aloud. Bidders may be present during the bid
opening.
Briefly, the work consists of reroofing five projects
of the Housing Authority. Roofing systems shall
include composition shingle overlay and related re
pairs.
Prospective bidders may obtain one set of bidding
documents at 8910 N. Woolsey Avenue between 8
a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, upon
deposit of $20 which is refundable only if docu­
m ents are returned to HAP in good condition
w ith in ten days after bid opening date. Addi
tional sets of documents may be purchased at $10
each which is not retunable. Only business firms
outside the Portland Metropolitan Area may order
documents by calling 283-4602 and make arrange­
ments for deposit by mail.
Each bidder is responsible for inspecting prospective
job sites. Direct questions to Loren Tarbell at 283
4602. Answers to questions that are not identified
in the Specifications will be answered by Addenda
and provided to all planholders of record.
A minimum of 20% MBE participation in the execu
tion of this project is a HAP requirement, and the
methods the bidder proposes to comply with this re­
quirement shall be submitted as a notarized "C ertifi­
cation of MBE Participation” form which will become
part of the bid.
NO bid will be considered unless accompanied by
Bid Security in the form of a certified check, cash­
ier's check or surety bond payable to the Housing
Authority of Portland in an amount equal to 10% of
the bid to be forfeited as fixed and liquidated dama­
ges should the bidder neglect or refuse to enter into
a contract or provide suitable bond for the faithful
performance of the work in the event the contract is
awarded.
No bidder may withdraw bid after the hour set for
the opening thereof until after a lapse of 60 days from
the bid opening.
The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any
bid not in complaince with all prescribed bidding
procedures and requirements and may reject any or
all bids, and waive all informalities if in the judgment
of HAP it is in the public interest to do so.

REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF INTEREST FOR
THE DESIGN AND CONTRACT
ADM INISTRATION FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A TEN MILLION GALLON
RESERVOIR, TELEMETRY CONTROLS
AND TRANSMISSION LINE
Project No 4024
The City of Gresham plans to retain a consulting en­
gineering firm to prepare the design and construe
tion management necessary for the construction of a
ten million gallon circular prestressed concrete pot
able water reservoir (overflow height to 50 feet, par
tially or fully buried), appropriate telemetry controls
to link other support facilities, and associated water
transmission lines. It is the City's intent to have this
project complete and on-line by January 1, 1990.
Interested consulting firms having direct and actual
experience in the design and construction techni­
ques of large diameter circular prestressed concrete
storage tanks should submit to the Gresham City
Engineer's office, 1333 N.W Eastman Parkway, Gre­
sham, Oregon 97030, by 5:00 p m., October 30,
1987, a statement of qualifications which shall
include:
(1) Name, address, phone number, contact person,
year established, types of service qualified to
perform and size of staff of the firm. A general
brochure may be submitted.
(2) Q ualification o f the firm . A summary of pro­
jects completed (during the last 10 years) by the
firm which are comparable to Scope of Project.
Include a brief description, including name and
location of the project, construction comple­
tion date, name and telephone number of gene­
ral contractor and owner's representative.
(3) Q aulifications o f Project Personnel.
The
name, qualifications and specific work exper­
ience of key project personnel including the pro
ject manager, project engineer, geotechnical
staff, and design engineers. An estimate as to
the percentage of time these personnel would
be available during the various phases of the
project shall be indicated. Resumes of other
important project staff may also be submitted.
(4) The ability to the firm to meet the imposed com­
pletion time constraints.
To assist in the preparation of the statement of qual­
ifications, a draft of the scope of work is available
at the Gresham City Hall, Engineering Division.
Based upon the statements of qualifications, the
most qualified firms will be selected to submit de­
tailed proposals for the construction of a prestressed
concrete reservoir, telemetry system and trans­
mission lines. Please contact the following for addi­
