FACILITIES ENGINEER
The Port of Portland has imme­
diate need for a Port Facilities
Engineer. In addition to offering
a variety of problem-solving situ­
ations for aviation related pro­
jects, this position also provides
the opportunity to work as part
of the Port Engineering Services
team with professional growth,
development and advancement
potential.
Preferred qualifications include
a Bachelors degree in engineer­
ing and demonstrated experience
in port or industrial facility and
equipment related design, con­
struction and maintenance. Also
preferred is a good working
knowledge of basic engineering
skills with specialization in one
or more of the following engi­
neering disciplines:
electrical,
mechanical, civil or structural. In
addition, the ability to effectively
communicate technical solutions
and recommendations to non­
technical facility operations per­
sonnel is essential.

Training and Education Program.
Responsible for daily manage­
ment of all school year support
activities, summer remediation
and work experience activities for
sixty 14 and 15 year olds who
meet special enrollment require­
ments. Position is supported by
project funds provided under
contract with Oregon Depart­
ment of Education. Duration of
position is contingent upon con­
tinuation of contract, not to ex­
ceed June 30, 1989. Preferred
qualifications: Bachelor's degree
with preferred major coursework
in Education plus three years
experience working with teenage
youth in a teaching, counseling
or
administrative
capacity.
Supervisory experience desire-
able.
Beginning salary range:
$18,037 to $20,292 plus bene­
fit package. Closing date 5 PM

Qualifications: High school gra­
duate or equivalent, at least 18

with children and adults in a sup­
portive role, aptitude in follow­
ing directions and in carrying
through efficiently with assigned
tasks. Emotional Ef physical sta­
mina to perform duties as re­
quired by the designated task
except for temporary disability.
6 Months (or more) perferred
experience in a professional set­
ting working with mentally re­
tarded students or 6 months
(or more) training in instructing
mentally retarded students or any
experience as an instructional
aide in MESDs special education
dept.
Salary $8.35/hr.
